The 2013 reds release is finally here….!!!

By news

It’s official.

After quite a few months of being sold out of shiraz, the 2013 Hunter reds are being released today. The 2013 Kiss shiraz heads and impressive line up of wines, all of which have settled into their skins nicely since bottling mid 2014.

Following an amazing response to it’s inaugural 2011 vintage, Elenay shiraz maintains its place in the range, this time with an actual barrel selection from the Kiss and Sweetwater vineyards, to continue this exceptional contemporary expression of Hunter shiraz.

Sweetwater shiraz is again showing it’s distinctively floral and blue fruited notes, and the DJV shiraz (now sourced from the 50 year old Trevena vineyard) is probably the surprise packet of the vintage – intentionally lighter bodied with amazing fruit purity and grace.

Please enjoy, and feel free to get back to me with your comments.

Jeremy Olivers’ Drop of the Month – 2014 Braemore semillon

By 未分类

One of Australia’s most respected wine scribes, Jeremy Oliver, has featured our 2014 Braemore semillon as his ‘Drop of the Month’ today.
Unfortunately the wine has well and truly sold out, but you still might find a bottle or two on some fine wine retailers shelves or good restaurant wine lists.

Stay tuned for the release of the 2015 vintage Braemore semillon, probably early June….

2015 shiraz harvest ready to go

By news

As is quite often the case, we take in the last of our semillons and the first of our shiraz is knocking on the door….

Most importantly, that frustrating rain we’ve had over the last few weeks seems to have disappeared, and the forecast over the next few weeks looks clear and fine. Amazingly, the shiraz vineyards we deal with have come through totally unscathed, looking clean, healthy and getting some nice ripe flavours.

Sweetwater shiraz is the first to be picked, looking the ripest (pushing 14.0 Beaume) and most flavoursome at this stage, and I’d expect the Kiss (Pokolbin Estate) vineyard to follow soon there after.

Our new oak barrels are rolling into the winery just in time….
